Hilary Graham

Hi and welcome to Body Reflexions. Just a little bit of information about me and my fellow teachers to help you feel at ease and show that we are experienced in our specialist fields and that we are here to help you.

I am a very experienced teacher with over 15 years of teaching experience.

After a horse-riding accident in which I broke my back, resulting in spinal fusion, I turned my attention to Pilates as a method of exercise to help strengthen my back and my pre existing scoliosis. After attending classes for a number of years and seeing how Pilates helped me and others, I decided in 2006 to undertake Pilates Teacher Training with Body Control Pilates, Europes leading Pilates organisation. After qualifying in Body Control Pilates Matwork I then went on to qualify with Pilates Union Uk to teach on the Pilates Reformer machine.

Always wanting to add more to my knowledge and my ability to help others I have since gone on to add Pre and Postnatal pilates, Yoga 200hr teaching training, BarreConcept, Core Fitness Roller, Nordic Walking, Intrinsic Biomechanics, Restorative Yoga and undertaken specialist back care courses.

In the past few years I have become a Holistic Core Restore(r) Coach, the only one in the North East, having trained with the fantastic Jenny Burrell of Burrell Education. This is now my main passion, after seeing how the ladies have really changed their lives through completing the Holistic Core Restore(r) Everywoman course. Don't believe the adverts that make you believe that its normal to leak when you cough/sneeze/jump etc, its very common BUT NOT NORMAL we can definitely help you. I find it very alarming the number of ladies who have finally plucked up the courage to seek help for their problems and yet are being given 'out of date information about how to strengthen their pelvic floor and core. 'Clenching at the traffic lights' just doesn't work. We Holistic Core Restore(r) Coaches are all very passionate about our work and we are constantly being kept up to date with the latest and best techniques through our regular training days.

With having a scoliosis myself I have been continually looking at ways to help my own body, I have tried many different techniques but have found a significant improvement with ScolioPilates. The training for this is based in America but during Lockdown I was able to participate in these courses online live streamed. Having undertaken Modules 1 and 2, to enable me to work with clients with Scoliosis I am offering personalised sessions for these specific clients. Please get in touch if you have a scoliosis you don't need to live in pain.

I'm always looking at continuing my education and the best ways I can assist my clients, so when the MELT Method came to my attention I was very intrigued and excited. I undertook the indepth training in the MELT Hand & Foot Instructor Training and the Level 1 Training early in 2022 and am now excited to offer this amazing revolutionary self-care system to others by workshops and weekly classes.

If you feel intimated by going to the gym or not sure if you will be doing the correct exercises for you this can put you off exercising. Don't worry, by working with us we will make you welcome and everyone is treated as an individual. With my own personal back experiences I can fully understand and identify with the clients who have any injuries/illnesses and restrictions and I specialise in helping them to gain the most from the exercises for their body and make sure that all exercises are undertaken safely and tailored to them.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Eileen has been teaching gentle mindful Vinyasa Flow Classes in Australia for many years. She has recently returned to the North East and we are delighted to have her on our team. She will be leading a traditional Hatha based gentle Vinyasa Flow Yoga. Vinyasa meaning a gradual progression or step-by-step approach connecting one posture to another, uniting the breath and movement in the steps for a smooth flow to create strength and balance in the mind and body helping us to feel calm and revitalised. Her classes end with a gorgeous guided relaxation/meditation.
