Meet the team
Hilary Graham - Studio Owner
Hi and welcome to my studio! Just a little bit of information about me and my fellow teachers to help you feel at ease and show that we are experienced in our specialist fields and that we are here to help you.
I am a very experienced teacher with over 10 years of teaching experience.
After a horse-riding accident in which I broke my back, resulting in spinal fusion, I turned my attention to Pilates as a method of exercise to help strengthen my back and my pre existing scoliosis. After attending classes for a number of years and seeing how Pilates helped me and others, I decided in 2006 to undertake Pilates Teacher Training with Body Control Pilates, Europes leading Pilates organisation. After qualifying in Body Control Pilates Matwork I then went on to qualify with Pilates Union Uk to teach on the Pilates Reformer machine.
Always wanting to add more to my knowledge and my ability to help others I have since gone on to add Pre and Postnatal pilates, Yoga 200hr teaching training, BarreConcept, Core Fitness Roller, Nordic Walking, Intrinsic Biomechanics, Restorative Yoga and undertaken specialist back care courses. Most recently I have also become a Holistic Core Restore Coach, which includes Pelvic Floor fitness, core restoration and wellness for every woman.
I have also combined my Pilates, Yoga and Back pain training to introduce new Back Rescue classes devised from working on my own body and watching and listening to my clients.
With my own personal back experiences I specialise in helping others with any restrictions and will ensure that all exercises are undertaken safely and tailored to the individual.
I have had a career in teaching toddlers to seniors since 1995. Initially teaching Aerobics, Aqua, Boxercise, Step, Gym and circuit training. As well as GP Referrals, Exercise on Prescription, Swimming and Gymnastics. My career took a detour after spending time raising my family. I became school based and supported children’s learning and development. I am fortunate to have been able to add Yoga to my skill set and feel passionate in my practise and in teaching Yoga. In June 2017, I successfully completed 250 Hours Ashtanga Yoga Training at Leeds Yoga Space. I currently teach Yoga to Primary School children and I am very excited to teach and promote Yoga and its benefits to people of all ages.
Yin Yoga and Pregnancy Yoga
Zoe spent the last 20 years living in London where she discovered the incredible healing and transformative power of yoga. She's been teaching for over 5 years and finds it an honour & privilege to bring yoga into the lives of others. Zoe loves the quieter side of yoga (yin, meditation and pranayama) and also specialises in working with pregnant couples. Her classes are sometimes deep and profound but laughter and chatter is also welcomed. After all what is life without connection to others.
Hayley (Nam Krishna)
Hayley fell in love with Kundalini Yoga at the beginning of 2014. She decided to teach Kundalini Yoga because it offers a tangible path in the real world to self awareness and transformation. Hayley is currently in the process of furthering her knowledge in order to reach out and offer Kundalini Yoga to children & teens, the older and/or less mobile generation and to help those who may be dealing with death & trauma. She is also deepening her knowledge around nutrition, primarily Ayurveda, which is one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems. Hayley thrives on sharing this knowledge and guiding others on their personal path.
I have been practicing yoga for seventeen years. It has given me back so much, physically it helps me stay flexible and strong emotionally it has given me stronger sense of self and inner calm. I teach Iyengar based yoga, incorporating sun salutations, meditation and yoga philosophy in the asana.
My name is Dave Robinson and I am a full time Tai Chi Chuan instructor, teaching in the Tyne and Wear, Durham and Northumberland area. I began my training in martial arts with Karate in 1974 and in 1996 after attending a Tai Chi class at my local gym, I was hooked from day one, and began learning the simplified 24 step Yang style Tai Chi Chuan. In 1999 I gained my assistant coach award with the Wu Kung UK and began teaching part time whilst working in local authority as a Landscape Architect. In 2001 I attended a workshop by Master John Ding and was so impressed by the authenticity and depth of the teaching that I began to train in Traditional Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan with Master Ding Academy instructor Mike Watson. In 2007 I was awarded my Advanced Level One Course Teaching Certificate and began teaching full time in 2012. Training in the the martial arts has been a constant theme running through my life, bringing health, well being and a positive attitude toward life. My aim is to promote the art of Tai Chi Chuan and inspire others to practice this holistic art to bring harmony of mind, body, spirit, and well being to their lives
